Fillers could now also be used to diminish the signs of aging that appear on the face and lips. This procedure will help you restore your skin’s youthfulness and glow.

BEFORE THE TREATMENT

Injecting fillers on wrinkles and volume defects may sound easy but care must be taken in choosing the provider to do it. Your provider must also know which type of filler to use for the appropriate area. Pre-care treatment before any filler procedure is to first numb the area. Furthermore, it must be remembered that subtlety is the best result. Looking too “done” typically means others can tell that a patient has had fillers.

DURING THE TREATMENT

At All Star Health & Wellness, we clearly explain to our patients all the possible risks and complications before we start the treatment. The patient’s face then is cleansed, skin markings and numbing agents are applied. After a 20 to 30 minute wait, the patient is positioned appropriately and fillers are placed.

Only a certain amount of filler can be used in one session. If it has been agreed by the patient and the provider that more fillers need to be injected to achieve the best result, injections may be divided into several sessions after waiting for one to two weeks between injections.

AFTER THE TREATMENT

After the treatment, the patient is advised that there may be some swelling and/or bruising and that these are temporary and will resolve without any additional interventions. They are also instructed to follow up in one to two weeks to see if there is a need to add (or dissolve) some filler.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Happens When I Get A Filler?

Here are some general scenarios on what to anticipate:

  • Most filler procedures need one appointment visit and last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Your provider will inject the filler into the area, often giving you several injections to produce the best results.
  • You can experience a burning or stinging sensation.

What Should I Do After Getting a Filler?

Most patients can return to their everyday activities after leaving the office.

Your provider might advise applying ice to the region for 15 to 20 minutes before you depart in order to lessen any redness and swelling brought on by the injections.

You should be able to put on cosmetics before you leave the office.
